Last week the new multi purpose learning centre was built and we got to go inside and sing some cool songs and it smelt brand new and it had some fancy new colours; red and white. Every one sounded beautiful.

Tree Planting.

Yesterday Room 3 went tree planting at the Whakatu reserve by the airport. There were heaps of different types of trees waiting for us. The man told us how to plant them. First we had to dig a hole that was deep enough. Then we pulled the plant out of the container and we had to tickle the roots. Then we put it into the hole and covered with dirt and stamped it down with our foot. Then we put old wool or carpet around the tree and we put big staples in to keep it secure. This was to help make sure the plant didn't have weeds around it to compete with. We all did about 4 trees each and we got to take home a baby kowhai tree each.
